Project Experience
ACID & ALKALI LINE REPLACEMENT | AK STEEL*
MIDDLETOWN, OH
Completed a pipeline evaluation for AK Steel. The evaluation involved determining the efficiency of the existing system and how the new piping system would change the performance of the system. This analysis was done primarily using PIPE-FLO software which allowed us to build an accurate hydraulic model of the system which could then be manipulated over a number of different design cases, to fully flesh out the best option for the client..
——
EDWARDSPORT POWER STATION, HX MODIFICATION*
EDWARDSPORT, IN
Designed and analyzed a lifting lug on a LP heat exchanger. The lug modification had the end goal of aiding the maintenance personnel with the removal of the head of the heat exchanger. FEA was ran to validate the design prior to construction and implementation.
——
KENTUCKY TRAILS EXHIBIT | LOUISVILLE ZOOLOGICAL GARDENS*
LOUISVILLE, KY
Brand new zoo exhibit. Mechanical and plumbing scope was fairly minimal, but it was a very large construction budget. Coordinated with Louisville MSD to coordinate utility tie-ins, did schematic and conceptual level design in Revit.
——
WARRICK GENERATING STATION, HP/XO HEATER MODIFICATION*
NEWBURGH, IN
Assisted on management and design for the insulation and heat trace of piping systems associated with the high pressure (HP) and crossover (XO) heaters. Replaced valves, instruments, and transmitters on the system. The most challenging part was the heat trace design for the exposed (outdoor) heat exchangers.
